Kaiku is an on-device text-to-speech desktop app. Its optional Twitch integration connects to a backend service that acts purely as a relay.
When you connect your Twitch account we store, on the backend, your Twitch user id and login and an OAuth access/refresh token pair (encrypted at rest). These let the service subscribe to your channel's events (chat, channel-point redemptions, cheers, subscriptions, follows) on your behalf.
Incoming Twitch events are relayed in real time to your own Kaiku desktop app, which reads selected messages aloud. These relayed events are not persisted on the backend and are not shared with third parties. The one exception is the Bits extension leaderboard, described below.
If you enable the optional Kaiku Bits extension, then when a viewer uses Bits to trigger an alert the backend records that redemption — the viewer's Twitch user id (only when the viewer has granted the extension identity access), the alert title, the number of Bits, and the time — so the extension panel can show a leaderboard of the viewers who have used the most Bits and a recent-activity feed. Viewers who have not shared their identity are counted anonymously. These records are kept for 30 days and then automatically deleted, and are never shared with third parties. Deleting your data (below) removes them immediately.
You can export or permanently delete everything the backend stores about you at any time from within the Kaiku app (Disconnect / Delete my data), which also revokes the connection.
